Breakthrough Diabetes Research From Israel

The World Health Organization estimates that over 180 million people worldwide have diabetes and predicts that will more than double by 2030. But a new Israeli breakthrough could save your life or the life of someone you love. Dr.Eli Lewis and researchers from Ben-Gurion University in Beer-Sheva, Israel, in collaboration with, Harvard, Stanford, Columbia and the University of Colorado, have discovered a novel method for transplanting healthy insulin producing cells into the diabetic pancreas. www.israel21c.net

When will this treatment be available?, I know this research has been going on for sometime, how far off is it from being approved?

  2. ivanmaxsimovitch says:

It strikes me that this is one of the breakthroughs that people have been hoping for. Transplants are possible, but it is autoimmune disease that has been the bain of this procedure for type 1 diabetics. Eventually the body will attack itself again.

It will be interesting to follow, and important to understand the entire protocol necessary to make this “cure” work. Ivan NYC

if we could spend more money on scientific research and better schooling and before u know it; 10-20 years into the future this could be the list of cures from israel “ALL CANCER cured, DIABETES cured, HIV AND AIDS do i really have to say it? :)
so maybe if u started getting up on ur asses and doing something u could help jews and Israel make the world a better place!!!

  8. notverysuperdean says:

    g-d ilove my country!!~no pun intended :)
if israelites are always such treasures (yay im a treasure!!) y does the whole world keep baggin on us for things like trying to get rid of hamas and protecting our country? u think we are treasures now?did u know that israel spends 75% of its money in national protection (and theyd have to otherwise there would BE no israelites)
imagine what we could do if the rest of the world could start helpin us instead of criticizing us.

Is this in human clinical trials yet.

  12. dimitmant says:

When did this clinical trial start? Just so you know guys pharmaceuticals will do ANYTHING to prevent a cure. This would cost them billions of foregone revenue…

  13. CureType1Diabetes says:

You talk about “inducing diabetes in a mouse” – is this chemically induced ? If so, why not use a spontaneous autoimmune model? Yasher koach – get to human trials ASAP.

I am very happy as a diabetic and as a jew to see that israel has a large chance of finding a cure, maybe evryone will give israel a break then and stop bagging the poor country. but im not happy with the treatment of the lab rats it looks cruel why do they use scissors how do they get blood from them onto a strip, and do they make sure there not in pain?. Looks like Israel is very much advanced where Diabetes research is concerned.I read that Diabetes is reversible(back to normal health)if discovered early(by exercising,et.cetera.),but this Israeli research is very hopeful indeed.Thank you Israel21c!!!

    A-aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-MEN!

Respect for those who know to serve their G-d
through serving his creatures. If I were Israeli, I
    would be extremely proud.
Thanks to editors to put the spot on such efforts.

Yes, but they don’t know if it causes pancreatis cancer, that will take another 10-50 years. I am confused why scientist have so many claims to cure illnesses, yet there has not been even one cure. I am not saying illnesses cannot be cured, but no specific treatment has been responsible those who have been cured. Science develops good therapy, but it is up to the patient to accept G-d’s healing.

  18. davewidow says:

Right On! I pray that this research is permitted to continue and that this allows a cure for myself and many others, after almost 40 years of type-1 Diabetes! Keeping my fingers crossed!
